Snorkeling on Molokai

I have been reading on snorkeling on Molokai. It looks like
the best snorkeling is if you hire a boat and go out farther.
Is this true? We haven't been snorkeling in ages and really
want to see some cool stuff.

we're planning a five week trip to hawaii in late january and february: my husband and myself with our two children 2,5 and 4,5 years old. I know and love camping in state and national parks but i have read that camping in hawaii, in general (especially on oahu, is not quite as convenient as in the rest of the usa. my question: is that true also for the island of maui? can you recommend camp sites? my other question- we don't want to move around that much with the two kids ( in terms of long...

I'm going to be visiting Honolulu for the first time, and while I enjoy being out on the beach...I am very sensitive to the sun.

When I was in Aruba, each hotel had umbrella-like huts on their beaches. You signed up for one at the beginning of the day, and you could use it (free of charge) and the lounge chairs until the end of the day.

My question is...are there any arrangements like this at hotels in Honolulu? If so, which ones?

Molokai planning - Am I crazy?

My intention is to fly to the Big Island, ferry over to molokai, and hike the beach/coast line. If I cant hike over it swim around it. Ultra light hiking/backpacking.. no impact camping.
Is this possible?

First trip to Hawaii for my family

My family, including 2 girls 10 and 13, are visiting Hawaii in March for 14 days. We fly into Oahu, and fly out of Maui. We plan to spend only the first day or two on Oahu. We are spending our last 5-6 days on Maui, at the Maui Westin.
My question is, what best to do and see in the meantime? If we had to choose between spending the in-between days on the Big Island, or on Kauai, what would you recommend? Is it worth it to try to fit both of these 2 islands in, or would that be too...

How is the weather in Hawaii in October?

We're supposed to visit Hawaii (Oahu and then Maui) between the 4th and the 15th of October and we're coming from as far as Lebanon (26 hours by plane!!!).We've heard about the rain and hurricane and we don't know what to do with our reservations anymore. Do you advise us to cancel our trip or the weather will be better at the time of our visit?

My husband and I are trying to decide between the Kauaii Coast Resort at the Beach Boy in Kauaii or the Waikiki Marina Resort at the Ilikai in Oahu. We will be going in Jan 2006. I am wondering if anyone knows anything about either of these places(they are through our timeshare). Also I will be 7 1/2 months pregnant, so not too sure how many "adventure" activities I can do.
