I am looking for my sister somewhere in the San Diego southside. Her name is JR, short for Johnson Ross. She means a whole lot to me because when I arrived in San Diego the first time, I was just a young buck with not much going for me. I must have spent a solid 2 months walking around the city, you see, it was early in my Navy Career and I didn't yet own a vehicle. Anyway, I stumbled into a place called Trophy Lounge, as most sailors did in the late 80s. It was just a couple of blocks away from Gate 8, you know, across from the Pussycat Theater and down the street from Lourdes, but that is a whole other subject. I had just discovered the joy of drinking and this place had cheap drinks, (Kids Don't Drink!!!), and beautiful barmaids straight from the P.I. It was there on one of my crusades that I met this fantastic girl that I could talk to. After one night I knew that there was something special about this girl. She was so alive and funny that I wanted to know her more. After 1 night she loaned me her car so I could get around town and see more of the city. From then on we had crazy fun together, nothing sexual, and she became like a sister to me. Man, did she love to dance, one time around 2am we stopped the car on the 163 and she got out and started dancing to a song on the radio. She was crazy like that, and as much as I've grown in the last 15 years, I really miss her innocence and I long to return, just for a little while, back to the good ole days. I miss you JR, and I would really like to know everything is OK!
