VANCOUVER, Jan. 12 /CNW/ -
Mulgrave School of West Vancouver has received permission from the Ministry of Education of British Columbia to offer and accredit a number of Grade 11 and 12 courses to take place at four locations around the world in the summer of 2006.
The Mulgrave Summer Institute will run programs in Italy,
England/Ireland, Cozumel, Mexico and Australia/New Zealand. The students will travel with B.C. certified teachers, take classes daily during the week and travel extensively in the countries en route. Students will take a single course over 4 weeks from the selection of 10 offered this year.
"This represents an important initiative for Mulgrave and a first class
educational opportunity for all British Columbia high school students. Given the fast pace of globalization we believe that an in depth international learning experience will give today's student a major advantage in the future," said Tony Macoun, the Head of the Mulgrave School.
The program is open to any B.C. resident high school students with the
appropriate prerequisites for the course. Costs including airfare from
Vancouver start at $2,995 Canadian. In order to ensure broad access to the program, some financial aid is available.
An opening presentation on the program will be held at Mulgrave School on Wednesday, January 18th, 2006 at 6:30 p.m.
